WebXess Reseller FAQ:


How do I place an order for my customer?

Please use our online order form at www.webxess.net/order.html to place an order for your customer. Fill up your client's information on the form (we use the information to register with the InterNIC) and be sure to put your reseller ID and email address on the form (account instruction and invoice will be sent to Reseller).

As a Reseller, can I use WebXess merchant account?

WebXess does not offer Merchant accounts. The reseller must acquire this for his customer in order to process transactions. We do know of business vendors that would setup credit card merchant accounts without an application fee.

Can a reseller register a .com for a customer that resides in another country?

Yes, however some laws may apply. Certain foreign countries will not allow you to register their domains unless you reside within that country. Please contact the appropriate NIC.

What form of payment does WebXess accept?

WebXess accepts visa, master, online check and check via snail mail. Payment by check via snail mail is acceptable, but we cannot set up accounts until payment is received.

How long does it take for WebXess / SiteReserve.com to register a Domain Name?

Your registration request will be processed within 24 hours, however it may take up to 72 hours for all ISP to update their DNS records.

How do I upgrade from domain Professional plan to a higher plan?

Send email to sales@webxess.net and be sure to mention the domain name of the account you wish to upgrade. Sales will advise you of the procedure and also explain the billing process. The upgrade does not affect your current account, but rather make new features available to you.

Can I change my customers domain name?

In order to change the domain name, you need to submit an order for the new domain via our online order form at http://www.webxess.net/order.html Be sure to reference the domain name you wish to replace in the comments section. Please note that we must set up a new account to serve a different domain name. We can prorate the new account based on the unused portion of monthly rates collected in advance from the old account. However, another set up fee will be required and you will need to reupload files to the new account once activated. Please note that a new registration fee of $35 will be required for the changed name.

As a reseller, how do I handle billing?

WebXess will leave this procedure strictly up to the reseller. We do suggest to keep it simple and model WebXess billing procedure. We bill a minimum 3 month contract in advance.

Why doesn't WebXess plans have unlimited bandwidth?

We have done our homework and provide a fair value in our plans. Our bandwidth prices not only include bandwidth, but also CPU. So when a site becomes very popular, we have to provide adequate bandwidth and CPU. Many providers assume that their server(s) will crash at a certain point so they do not meter traffic. What happens to the rest of the paying customers on that server? To accommodate the high volume niche, we have a high volume plan and the next step is a dedicated server. Performance is not cheap and we have to keep expanding if we want to be leaders. Monitoring bandwidth and CPU utilization closely assures that we offer the best performance and reliability in the industry. Our policy also prevents abusive customers who have little regard for acceptable internet conduct.

Sales Transaction Workflow

When a reseller sells a plan to an enduser, the reseller will charge the enduser a setup charge, and the first three months' (or longer contract periods) monthly fees in aggregate. The reseller will then report the transaction to WebXess, remitting the appropriate fees, and providing the enduser's registration and site information to WebXess. The spread between the amounts the reseller collects from his enduser and setup fees remitted to WebXess represent the reseller margin, and are entirely up to the reseller. (Although WebXess will regularly publish Suggested Retail Prices for each Plan which represent WebXess's best estimates of competitive pricing for each market, the enduser selling prices charged by each reseller remain entirely the province of that reseller.)

Technical Support

Each reseller is expected to provide to his endusers technical support of an advisory nature: the ability to assist the end user in managing his site and plan usage when everything is working normally. WebXess provides Level Two technical support: the ability to diagnose and cure any problems arising within the network itself, independent of user activity, as well as those matters which may from time to time surpass the competency of the field technical support personnel.

What is a "Domain Only" pointers?

"Domain Only" service is available to customers wishing to have additional domain name(s) point to the same HTML files of an existing Professional plan or higher web site account.
